Rec Center Rental Policies

Depending on nature of use, a deposit may be required. Deposit will double if alcohol is present. For events with excessive street shoe traffic a deposit of up to $500/day may be required.
Upon receipt of application, your date is held for three days. Date is confirmed upon receipt of deposit.
For customer service, safety and building security over the rental period, all Recreation Center rentals will include charges for building supervision.
Building Supervisor is NOT responsible for your clean-up.
Nothing may be affixed to walls or columns, all decorations are to be removed, children are to be supervised and are to remain within the rental area.
Users are asked to leave the facility in the condition it ws found. Deposits are reduced accordingly.
Additional time (set-up/take-down) for decorating or clean-up can be arranged if needed (see LATE CHARGE below).
LATE CHARGE: If use (including clean-up) exceeds reservation hours (10 minute grace period), a $25 fee, rounded to the next whole hour will be assessed.
Facility fees are based upon minimum blocks of time. Additional hours may be added but no reservation may exceed 8 hours.

Give us a call for help planning your special event. Think about the Recreation Center when organizing that next famly reunion or corporate party. We can set up a sports challenge in the gymnasium, like dodgeball or basketball, and then the party can move downstairs to the Foundation Room for food and beverages. Lots of fun for everyone!

Foundation Room

The Foundation Room is located beneath the Helen McCune Gymnasium at 510 SW Dorion, on the west end of the City Hall/Library complex. Its large, open room with electric fireplace is an ideal place for meetings, receptions or special events. It also features a bar area and kitchen. Minimum rental is 2 hours and fees include building supervision.

Helen McCune Gymnasium

Rent the gymnasium for sports practice, birthday parties, or other events. Contact Recreation at 541-966-0228 for pricing and reservations. You'll find the gymnasium at 510 SW Dorion, on the west end of the City Hall complex. Minimum rental is 3 hours; fees include building supervision.

How Do I Make A Reservation?

Call the Recreation Center staff at 966-0228 to check availability, or to make an appointment to se the facility. Please remember that our first responsibility is to provide recreation programs for our community. Consequently, department programs will take priority over the schedule. Unfortunately, noise from gymnasium activities is not conducive to use of the Foundation Room.

Once an available date has been determined, complete the application and submit it with the deposits to the Parks and Cemetery office, 865 Tutuilla Road. Sorry but neither depostis or fees can be accepted at the Recreation Center. The Parks office hours are Mon. thru Fri., 7am to 4pm, and their phone is 541-276-8100.

IMPORTANT - your date is not confirmed until your depost is received. The rental fee is due five business days prior to your date of use. Feel free to call us a 541-966-0228 to double check your arrangements the week of the event. We want your occasion to be special!
