Vert Policies

Mr. John Vert, who left money for the Vert Memorial Building, specified in his will that the lower portion of the building would be made available to the women’s clubs of Pendleton.  In accordance with these wishes, the City of Pendleton and the Vert Council set the policies on the use of the building.  The Club Room, Kitchen, and Little Theater were reserved for ladies’ groups whenever they wished to use them.

The City of Pendleton maintains a custodian for the building and arranges for its use, always having in mind that the ladies’ organizations have preference.  Rental fees are used by the Vert Council for refurnishing as needed.
